Reiki

Reiki (Pronounced Ray-Key) meaning Universal life force energy is a non-invasive, non-diagnostic, non-interventionist and

non-manipulative holistic therapy.

Reiki is experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations, or maybe nothing at all.

Reiki does not address any disease or symptoms directly. It does not interfere with any medical treatment, so it is suitable for everyone.

Reiki is used in various settings including private practice, complementary therapy centres, GP surgeries, hospitals, hospices, cancer support groups, post-operative recovery and in the care of the elderly.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki works by helping the client to tap into the body’s natural

energy to restore balance within.

Natural Reiki is based on the theory that broken down to the smallest atom and beyond we are all fundamentally made of the same thing; essentially it is believed that our energy comes from the same source, hence removing all barriers during a session to tap directly to source.

Reiki is a relaxing therapy and through deep relaxation we can access many healing powers within us. Life force nourishes our cells and organs which can become disrupted by conscious or unconscious negative feelings; Reiki heals by flowing through the energy points and charging with positive energy.

What happens during a treatment?

The Reiki Practitioner (sometimes named Reiki Masters) will feel energy points all along your body by light touch.

These energy points are sometimes referred to as Chakras, meridians and Nadis and flow round the energy field called the aura, but energy is prevalent also on areas relating to injuries, or where balance needs restoring.

Reiki Practitioners will scan the body to find the points that need attention and together with the client can get the natural energy restored.

Like all treatments if something specific or long term is being treated it may take a few sessions.

Can Reiki do me any harm?

Because Reiki is guided by the super-consciousness, it can never do any harm.

It always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to create the effect that is appropriate for the client. You may never need worry about whether to receive Reiki or not. It is always helpful.

The practitioner does not direct the healing and does not decide what to work on, or what to heal, the practitioner is not in danger of taking on the karma of the client.

Because the practitioner is not doing the healing, it is also much easier for the ego to stay out of the way and allow the presence of pure energy to clearly shine through.
